The Tribal Research Institute under the aegis of Tribal Welfare Department is relentlessly working for the preservation of the cultural and traditional ethos of the tribal communities of Uttarakhand. We are not only making efforts to conserve their heritage but also making efforts to equip them with the resources so that each tribal can establish their own identity in the New and Digital India.
State Tribal Research cum Cultural Centre and Museum T.R.I., Dehradun, Uttarakhand is the research body of the Ministry of Tribal affairs, Government of India at state level. It was established under the central sponsored scheme for the conservation and promotion of the culture and the all-round development of the five tribes of Uttarakhand namely Tharu, Jaunsari, Buksa, Bhotia and Raji.
