With the aim to develop the capacities of the elected tribal representatives of the Gram Panchayats and their functionaries, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India has initiated the nation-wide programme on ‘Capacity building training for all the ST PRI Members & Key Stakeholders on Tribal Development Schemes & Programs (Sarpanches & Nayeb Sarpanch and Ward Members/ ST community members will undergo this awareness program).
Ministry in partnership with the State Governments intends to conduct such capacity building programmes across all the States. It is intended to enhance the capacities of the elected tribal PRI representatives to enable them to function effectively.

Tribal Research Institute regularly organises seminars and workshop for educating and enriching its workforce, community, teachers and members associated directly or indirectly for the betterment of the tribal communities of Uttarakhand. The workshops are organised on variety of topics pertaining to subject of requirement in fields like education, health, eco-tourism, livelihood and others.
Tribal Research Institute under the aegis of Tribal Welfare Department, Uttarakhand in collaboration with Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India organises various Exhibitions and Fairs on a regular basis to provide a platform to the tribal artists, artisans and craftsmen to showcase their talent and art to the public.
These exhibitions and fairs not only provide a platform to tribal talent but also give impetus to the efforts of giving livelihood to the community.
